At a press conference in Davao City last June 1, 2016, Duterte catcalled GMA reporter Mariz Umali. He was called out for his behavior by Umali’s husband and fellow GMA reporter Raffy Tima. When pressed for his take on the incident, the president argued that he was free to whistle since the act itself is not inherently sexual.
