Dedicated to its Education for Real Life philosophy, STI College (STI) continues to provide holistic education that is rooted in immersion and practical application—now more personalized and flexible than ever based on each student’s interests and intended career trajectories.
Starting June 2026, its network of 63 campuses will fully adopt the Department of Education’s (DepEd) strengthened Senior High School (SHS) curriculum for School Year (SY) 2026-2027. The transition aligns with the national mandate and builds upon a successful pilot program which included STI College General Santos, setting a new standard for an educational framework designed for future-readiness.

The revised curriculum will consolidate the previous four-track system into two pathways: the Academic and Technical-Professional (TechPro) track. This shift eliminates fixed strands, letting students customize their education experience by taking core subjects while still allowing them to enroll in electives outside of their chosen tracks.
The new structure will also streamline 15 core subjects into a more focused set of five: Effective Communication; Life and Career Skills; General Mathematics; General Science; and Philippine History and Society. By decongesting the existing material, this aims to foster deeper, interdisciplinary mastery that better prepares graduates’ skills with the higher education and workforce demands.
“At STI, we’ve always believed in future readiness, so keeping up with these changes is our way of delivering on that promise. Through hands-on learning, we are ensuring every student is career-ready whether it’s stepping into university, straight into the workforce, or even taking on entrepreneurship,” said Ms. Karen Tabije, STI’s Vice President for Academics.
Under the refined curriculum, students will now have more time for field exposure opportunities, expanded on-the-job training (OJT), and apprenticeships with its vital industry partners. These enhancements ensure that the institution’s academic programs further strengthen practical expertise and integrate professionalism into the workplace as early as senior high school.
This transition applies exclusively for incoming Grade 11 students, while Grade 12 learners from non-pilot schools in SY 2026-2027 shall continue to take the existing SHS curriculum.
Renewed Partnership for Future-Ready Learners
Apart from the support in the new senior high school framework, STI has renewed its partnership with the DepEd to expand its Education for Real Life mission.
In a ceremonial signing on May 4, 2026, the two entities formalized a new agreement for quality, technology-driven education to reach more Filipinos nationwide. The renewed MOU agrees to leverage its campuses, mobile school buses, and state-of-the-art facilities as an extension of DepEd’s reach to provide resources and learning access to communities in need.

The joint work cements the long history between the two in bridging the digital divide, ever since the first launch of STI Foundation’s flagship “Driving Education Where IT Matters” advocacy under DepEd’s Adopt-a-School Program in 2007. This collaboration with the agency marks a significant step in empowering a new generation of career-ready graduates and delivering a future-ready education.
Beyond the scaling of its mobile school initiative and digital literacy training, STI is also harnessing its technological expertise in its career guidance programs and educational advocacy efforts through the STI Student’s Career Opportunity and Personality Evaluator (SCOPE) assessment and Career Camp workshops.
“It truly is an honor to stand alongside DepEd in this mission. By opening our resources to the youth, we can help in ensuring that the next generation is fully equipped and are not just ready for a career—but are always ready for what tomorrow brings,” shared Ms. Tabije.
