A 32-year-old overseas Filipino worker (OFW) from Barangay Calmay and a 44-year-old from Barangay Bonuan Binloc here have been discharged from the Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC) after recovering from coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

In a statement posted on Facebook on Tuesday, the city’s Public Information Office said the two have already tested negative and were discharged from the hospital on Monday, said the city’s Covid-19 focal person, Dr. Ophelia Rivera.

The two will remain under home quarantine for the next two weeks and they will be monitored by the City Health Office, the PIO said.

The OFW from Barangay Calmay was admitted on June 24 while the resident from Barangay Bonuan Binloc on June 25, both traveled to Metro Manila.

As of July 14, the city has four active Covid-19 cases out of the 30 confirmed cases, wherein 25 have already recovered and one has died.

Mayor Marc Brian Lim continues to remind the residents to take precautionary measures as there is still no vaccine yet for Covid-19.

He added the importance of basic health safety practices like wearing face masks and frequent hand washing to prevent the spread of the virus. (PNA)
