The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has launched its Free Wi-Fi for All program in Burgos in Surigao del Norte.

Burgos is among the nine towns of Surigao del Norte that are in Siargao Island, a top tourist destination in the country.

In a statement Friday, Burgos town said through the DICT’s program, it is already connected to the internet on Thursday.

“The free internet access will provide opportunities to the people of Burgos in coping with the digital and the modern world of connectivity,” it said.

The free Wi-Fi, it added, will also help the students, businesses, and the local government through online communications, transactions and dealings.

Despite the free internet access, the town continued to remind its residents to follow the required health protocols amid the pandemic.
