In his statement, the comedians and their companions even refused to undergo quarantine checkpoints. The governor shares that “Their refusal to undergo quarantine checkpoint protocols, evading checkpoint personnel is another manifestation of violation of our laws, an exhibition of arrogance and impoliteness that should not be tolerated”.

Additionally, Governor Singson shared that their visit had no legitimate purpose. “…without proper coordination with the LGU nor the PGIS COVID Action Center of Ilocos Sur, and with no legitimate purpose is an example of awful disregard of the existing quarantine rules of the Provincial Government”.

Governor Singson calls upon the Sangguniang Palalawigan to pass a resolution declaring the 3 comedians persona non grata in Ilocos Sur. He also takes this time to remind people that COVID-19 prevention is not only the responsibility of the government but the people as well.

The governor closes his statement with some words of assurance, “The little inconveniences that result from following strict rules and guidelines is a small sacrifice that we have to bear if we want to succeed in this against COVID-19”.
