A total of PHP108 million worth of infrastructure projects is set to rise soon, aimed at easing classroom congestion and a better learning environment for students at Homapon High School.

The projects include a two-story building with eight classrooms and a multi-purpose infrastructure and conference for educational and sports facility. It is expected to be completed this year.

In his message during the groundbreaking ceremony, Mayor Hisham Ismail expressed gratitude to the Ako Bicol Party-list for the initiative, saying the infrastructure would serve as a hub of knowledge, creativity, and hope for students.

“By adding more classrooms, we can reduce or eliminate the need for shifting classes, which will provide a better learning experience and a more conducive environment for students,” he said.

The two-story school building, funded under the DepEd Basic Educational Facility Fund with a budget of PHP38.6 million, will feature eight spacious and well-ventilated classrooms equipped with modern safety features such as fire alarms and proper ventilation systems.

Meanwhile, the PHP70.3 million MICES building, funded through the Sustainable Infrastructure Projects Alleviating Gaps (SIPAG), will be a multipurpose space designed to accommodate not only sports activities but also academic and community events, including training sessions, contests, medical missions, disaster relief operations, and emergency evacuations.

In his address, AKB Rep. Elizaldy Co acknowledged the support of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for making these crucial projects possible for Bicolanos. (PNA)
