Hearts were broken and some tears were shed when singer Moira dela Torre intentionally changed the lyrics of her hit song “Ikaw at Ako,” which she co-wrote and co-produced with her now-seperated husband Jason Marvin Hernandez.

The altered version, which the singer-songwriter performed at a live gig in Dapitan City, Cebu, was captured on video by user Joel Sarimus.

He then uploaded it on his Facebook account. “Nagbago na ang lyrics simula nung lumisan sya,” he wrote in the caption, followed by sad emoticons.

In the video, Moira is seen singing the last chorus. The song, which is a romantic declaration of finally finding one’s true love, was changed into a sad story about a lover leaving.

The lyrics were altered from: “At ngayon, nandito na. Palaging hahawakan iyong mga kamay. Hindi ka na mag-iisa. Sa hirap at ginhawa ay iibigin ka. Mula noon hanggang ngayon. Mula ngayon hanggang dulo. Ikaw at ako.”

To: “At ngayon, wala ka na. Paano bibitawan iyong mga kamay? Paano na mag-isa? Sa hirap at ginhawa ay naiwanan na. Mula noon, hanggang ngayon. Mula ngayon, hanggang dulo, paalam sa’yo.”

The change in the lyrics reflects what happened in the personal love life of the songstress. Last May, the songwriting couple shocked everyone when they announced their split.

Jason revealed to the public that he had been cheating on his wife via a Facebook post. “Though my love for her has always been genuine, a few months ago, I confessed to Moira that I have been unfaithful to her during our marriage,” he discloses.
