The best-selling music artist of all time, Elton John received one of the highest awards from Prince Charles on Wednesday, November 10.

John was given a special award honoring his service to the music industry for over 50 years and his advocacy to fight against AIDS. He was also anointed to be a member of the Order of the Companions of Honour during the ceremony at Windsor Castle.
On the official website of the UK Royal Family, the special award is granted to those who have made a major contribution to the arts, science, medicine, or government lasting over a period of time.

The Elton John AIDS Foundation was established by the rock musician to support HIV prevention, education programs and support services to people living with HIV in 1992 (US) and 1993 (UK).

John is a multi-talented English singer-songwriter best known for his songs Skyline Pigeon, Sad Songs, Always Love You and his recent collaboration with Dua Lipa, the Cold Heart. This song made the 74-year-old musician be the first solo artist with UK Top 10 singles in six different decades and become the oldest artist to hit the top of the ARIA Singles Chart.
