The Department of Migrant Workers in Northern Mindanao (DMW-10 ) said Monday it will offer 3,419 jobs to returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) with the help of the private sector, as part of the launching of the “Bayanihan para sa Balikbayang Manggagawa: National Reintegration Network.”

In a briefing, DMW-10 Officer-in-Charge Director Emmanuel Toledo said the activity, to be held at the tourism hall within the City Hall compound in this city on Tuesday, aims to provide returning OFWs with multiple pathways to sustainable livelihood.

Toledo said the jobs to be offered are mostly domestic, but some partner agencies also offer overseas jobs for various countries of assignment.

“If they choose to work overseas again, we have available overseas job opportunities through our Philippine recruitment agencies that would ensure safe and legal employment,” Toledo said.

Under the program, OFWs who decide to stay in the Philippines will have access to local employment opportunities, livelihood programs, financial assistance, and skills development initiatives that can help them start a sustainable source of income.

The event is part of the government’s broader reintegration program for returning migrant workers, recognizing their contributions to the national economy while ensuring they have viable options for employment and entrepreneurship upon their return.

Toledo encouraged returning OFWs in Northern Mindanao to attend the event and explore the various opportunities available to them.

The DMW-10 is coordinating with private sector partners, recruitment agencies, and local government units. (PNA)
