ABS-CBN TVplus’ Cinemo channel is bringing back the movies of Rudy Fernandez, one of the Philippines’ greatest action stars that ever lived, via its newest Saturday afternoon movie treat titled, “Markang Daboy.”

A total of 60 movies starring Rudy from the 1980s to 1990s will air every Saturday, from 1PM to 3PM.

Rudy started his career early at the age of three in his father’s films, “Luksang Tagumpay” and “Emily.” But he made his breakthrough as an action star in “Bitayin si Baby Ama”, which was followed by the box-office success of “Ang Leon, Tigre, at Alamid” in 1979.

After his initial wave of success, Rudy became known for portraying true-to-life characters in films including “Markang Bungo: The Bobby Ortega Story,” “Bingbong: The Vincent Crisologo Story,” and “Ping Lacson: Supercop.”

Throughout his career, he had also won two FAMAS Best Actor awards, two Film Academy of the Philippines Lifetime Achievement Awards, and a FPJ Memorial Award.

Watch out for “Markang Daboy” every Saturday afternoon on Cinemo.
