The Emergency Operations Center Task Force (EOC-TF) here has reported zero case of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) for the second day this month as shown in the real-time data gathered by the city government.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia welcomed the development on Tuesday, calling it a result of the hard work of the EOC-TF and the compliance of Bacolodnons with minimum public health protocols.

“Remain vigilant and live with the virus and adjust to it accordingly and cautiously,” Leonardia reminded the Bacolodnons.

According to the EOC-TF, the city recorded zero infection on March 12 and 14, and also on February 21.

The first time Bacolod had a zero case in a day was on March 10, 2021, which was about a year after the initial community quarantine.

As of Monday, Bacolod has only 121 active Covid-19 cases, data from the Department of Health-Western Visayas showed.

For the period March 1 to 15, the city’s status has been de-escalated to Alert Level 1 from Alert Level 2 in the last two weeks of February.

Before February 16, Bacolod was still at Alert Level 3, but its category was lowered to Alert Level 2 from February 16 to 28 after the city recorded a high vaccination rate and a significant drop in infections in the first two weeks of the previous month. (PNA)
