ABS-CBN Films nabbed two major wins at the 73rd Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards for its stars’ outstanding performances and achievements in the film industry last year.

“It’s Showtime” host, Vice Ganda, took home the trophy for Best Actor for his powerful performance as Bambi Salvador, an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) based in Taiwan who fakes her own death to help her family’s financial problems in the comedy-drama “And the Breadwinner Is…,” the top-grossing movie at the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival, which earned P400 million at the box office.

Star Magic artist Kathryn Bernardo also bagged the Bida sa Takilya honor for “Hello, Love, Again,” the highest-grossing Philippine film of all time, which earned P1.6 billion at the global box office. Kathryn reprised her role as Joy Fabregas, a domestic helper now based in Canada who is in a long-distance relationship with Ethan, a Hong Kong-based OFW, portrayed by Alden Richards.
