The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 5 (Bicol) continues to replenish its supply of family food packs (FFPs) in regional and satellite warehouses, as 79,100 FFPs arrived over the weekend.

On Monday, DSWD-5 reported that a total of 47 trucks carrying the food packs from the National Resource Operations Center (NROC) in Pasay and the Visayas Disaster Resource Center (VDRC) in Cebu arrived at the various satellite warehouses.

Of the total, 49,100 FFPs were distributed to the Bogtong and Pawa warehouses in Legazpi City, Albay; 13,000 went to Matnog, Sorsogon; and 8,500 each were sent to satellite warehouses in Daet and Vinzons, both in Camarines Norte.

The agency said the food packs would serve as standby supplies, ready for distribution to areas affected by natural disasters and calamities.

DSWD-5 assured that there is an adequate supply of relief items to be distributed among families affected by recent weather disturbances in the region.

More than PHP147 million worth of stockpiled relief supplies and standby funds are available for disaster response across the region. (PNA)
