Recognizing the pressing need to enhance financial literacy among Filipinos, PAGEONE Socials has introduced “Pera Peraan,” a comprehensive training program designed to equip employees with essential knowledge and skills in managing their finances.

Recent data from reputable international organizations, including the World Bank, has highlighted the alarmingly low level of financial literacy among adult Filipinos, with only 25% possessing basic financial knowledge. As a result, the Philippines ranks among the bottom 30 out of 144 surveyed countries in terms of financial literacy, according to S&P Global Ratings.

Understanding the potential implications of this situation on the country’s economy, PAGEONE, a leading public relations agency, has taken the initiative to address this issue head-on by organizing a dedicated financial literacy workshop for its employees.

“With the changing landscape of today’s generation, it is crucial to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage their resources,” said Ron Jabal, APR, Chairman of PAGEONE. “We believe that by conducting this training, we can empower our employees to make informed financial decisions and secure their future.”

On June 20, PAGEONE Socials hosted the “Pera Peraan: Preparing For the Future” workshop, featuring renowned financial expert Bea Pelayo Laderas, also known as Savvy Pinay, a licensed insurance agent.

Laderas led the interactive workshop, focusing on effective personal financial management strategies, including prudent spending, avoiding overspending, and making informed investment decisions. PAGEONEites were guided through seven insightful steps that covered various aspects of financial well-being, such as expense tracking, budgeting systems, saving, and investment practices.

The workshop sparked engaging discussions among PAGEONEites, inspiring them to allocate more time and effort to gain a better understanding of their finances and cultivate healthy financial habits.

PAGEONE’s commitment to enhancing financial literacy reflects its dedication to the holistic development of its employees and its aspiration to contribute positively to the overall financial well-being of the community.
