The city government is set to complete this month the construction of the PHP20-million veterinary clinic that would provide comprehensive veterinary services for dogs, cats, and other animals.

Dr. Mario Arriola, the city veterinarian, said Thursday the Veterinary Clinical and Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory is almost 100 percent complete.

The facility is located in the city abattoir compound in Barangay San Roque.

Arriola said pet lovers can bring their pets like dogs, cats, and monkeys for consultation and laboratory examinations at minimal cost compared to private veterinary clinics in the city.

“They (pet lovers) can avail comprehensive veterinary services for their pets,” Arriola said.

Once completed, the veterinary facility equipped with modern apparatuses will be the first of its kind in the Zamboanga Peninsula.

It will be administered by the Office of the City Veterinarian.

The funding for the project was included in the 2022 executive budget of the city government. (PNA)
