Five doctors from Las Vegas, Nevada are in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur, to render free eye surgery to the residents in the area.

Dr. Eric Montesclaros, the provincial health officer, said Monday the US-based doctors are from the Global Endowment for Sight, a US-based non-profit organization. They will be staying in the province for three days for the medical mission.

“The eye surgeries will be for free, and it will start today, Monday, at the Adela Serra Ty Memorial Medical Center in Tandag City,” Montesclaros said in an interview.

Montesclaros noted that 60 patients from the different towns in the province will directly benefit from free eye surgeries.

Surigao del Sur Governor Alexander Pimentel thanked the doctors for the free services, which he said would be a great help to the residents of the province. (PNA)
