Pillow fighting, a popular childhood game, has made its way into the sporting arena when the Pillow Fight Championship (PFC) holds its first-ever live sports event in Florida in January 2022.

PFC is comparable to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in terms of its three-round fighting format and stage, with the exception that pillows are used instead of fists.

The pillows were made of sturdy materials, as seen in photographs provided by the official PFC website, therefore you couldn’t get caught in some flying feathers during the fight.

“The only difference between our fights and MMA fights is that nobody gets hurt,” Steve Williams, CEO of PFC said.

“The fighters don’t like to get hurt, and there’s a lot of people who don’t want to see the blood. They want to see good competition, they just don’t want to see the violence.”

Though the concept may appear far-fetched, Williams hopes that nostalgia would help it attain universal popularity.

“Think about how they mixed country music with rap music and brought these diverse audiences together. That’s what we’re doing, and we hope it brings in a different kind of viewer,” Williams added.

PFC 3 will be available on Pay Per View on Fite.TV on January 29, 2022.
