The country’s overall tally of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) patients who beat the disease hit 1,725,218 as 15,820 new recoveries were recorded as of Wednesday.

The Department of Health (DOH) said the figure is equivalent to a 91.6-percent recovery rate from a total of 1,883,088 infections since the start of the pandemic last year.

The DOH also tallied 13,573 new confirmed cases, bringing the total number of active cases in the country to 125,378 or 6.7 percent of all cases.

Of the active cases, 95.9 percent are mild, 1.3 percent are asymptomatic, 1.2 percent are severe, 0.94 percent are moderate, and 0.6 percent are in critical condition.

Also logged were 228 new fatalities, raising the death toll to 32,492 or 1.73 percent of the total cases.

The DOH said 176 duplicates were removed from the total case count as 174 of those were actually recoveries.

Meanwhile, 152 cases previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

All laboratories were operational on Aug. 23 while seven laboratories were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.
