Land Transportation Office (LTO) deputized personnel of the Antique Police Provincial Office (APPO) will help ensure road safety in the province during the observance of Undas.

The 42 deputized cops will be working alongside the LTO in ensuring motorists have their driver’s license and are wearing helmets.

LTO-Antique head Eric Otayde, in an interview on Thursday, reminded motorists to observe road safety and to bring with them their unexpired motorcycle and driver’s licenses to avoid being apprehended.

“I also remind motorists to wear their helmets for their safety, and so they will not be apprehended,” Otayde said.

A surprise drug test among tricycle drivers will be conducted to make sure they are not under the influence of illegal drugs.

Meanwhile, APPO Director Col. Ryan Devaras, in a separate interview, reminded households to make sure someone is looking after their homes when they go to the cemeteries.

“Make sure that your homes are safe,” he said.

APPO will deploy 1,091 police personnel and force multipliers from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3 in Antique. (PNA)
