The multi-talented Rihanna has an estimated worth of $1.7 billion making her the wealthiest musician in the world, according to an article published by Forbes last Wednesday, August 4.

The Barbadian singer Rihanna – whose real name is Robyn Fenty – came into the spotlight with global successes including “We Found Love” and “Umbrella,” a collaboration with Jay-Z in 2005.

With her popularity and sold-out tours, you can’t deny that this contributed to her wealth, but it’s not her music that’s made her a billionaire.

Most of her wealth comes from Fenty Beauty with an estimated worth of $1.4 billion, also Forbes added that Rihanna owns the 50% stakes of the cosmetics line.

Rihanna is second only to Oprah Winfrey as the richest female entertainer.

The rest of Rihanna’s wealth came from her lingerie company, Savage x Fenty, worth an estimated $270 million, and her earnings from her career as a singer and an actress, Forbes reported.

Rihanna’s beauty line that was first launched in 2017, of which also owned by LVMH, is famous for offering a wide variety of 50 skin tones, including dark hues for women of color that is difficult to find. The beauty brand has helped her to be a leader in inclusivity in the industry.

Although Rihanna is so busy dominating the beauty and fashion brands, her fans keep on complaining because the Popstar hasn’t released a new album since 2016’s Anti.

But, from a business perspective, that could be fine: “She’s building a brand that’s separate from herself.”

According to consultant Coyne, “It’s not just about Rihanna. Even if you don’t like her music, she’s established a distinct style in the fashion and beauty industry.”
