Fresh Filipino soul and R&B act allen&elle brings a joyful sound in the song “Promise,” the duo’s first project under Tarsier Records.
The R&B-gospel track, which will be part of allen&elle’s upcoming EP, is about the bliss of feeling and falling in love.
“‘Promise’ speaks about the joy of being in love and expressing that love in the form of a promise. The song began with us feeling in love and inspired, which we expressed through making the track,” they said.
Describing it as light and upbeat and inspired by K-pop artists BTS and IU, the two are hoping that the song will envelop listeners with warmth. “Since we’re all still at a time where we can’t freely be with people, we wanted to find a simple way to connect with everyone and share love,” the duo added.
The song’s official music video will be released on Friday (July 9) on Tarsier Records YouTube channel.
One of the artists named in the Spotify RADAR Philippines 2021, allen&elle started collaborating and performing together in 2016 while they were still in college and began establishing themselves as a duo in 2019. The pair’s debut single, “Rest,” now has over 400,000 streams solely on Spotify.
The duo also performed at notable events like Fête de la Musique, One Music PH Live, Coke Studio Music Festival, and as a finalist in San Miguel Wanderbattle Finals in Cebu in 2020.
