OPM hit icon Claire dela Fuente has passed away after she had a cardiac arrest earlier on Tuesday, March 30. She was 63.
ABS-CBN Entertainment reporter MJ Felipe posted on Twitter confirming the passing of the singer wrote, “BREAKING NEWS: OPM Icon Claire dela Fuente passed away this morning due to cardiac arrest. Relatives of the singer confirmed her passing early this morning. Claire’s son, Gigo, also confirmed this news. Dela Fuente was 63.”

Jonathan Manalo, a family friend and composer-music producer also confirmed the passing on his simple Facebook post saying, “Rest in peace Tita Claire dela Fuente.”
Dela Fuente also tested positive for COVID-19.
The veteran singer was one of the “Jukebox Queens” alongside the famous Imelda Papin, Didith Reyes, and Eva Eugenio in the 1970s. Her best known “hugot” songs are “Sayang,” “Minsan, Minsan,” “Nakaw na Pag-ibig” and many more which will always be remembered by her co-artists and fellow Filipinos.
She was the late “Asia’s Sweetest Voice” and late “The Karen Carpenter of the Philippines.”
