Recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) has reached 511,755 after 14 more patients have recovered as of Monday, the Department of Health (DOH) said.

In its 4 p.m. case bulletin, the DOH said the figure represents 92.9 percent of those who tested positive of the virus but have beaten the illness since the onset of the pandemic last year.

The agency also reported 1,685 new confirmed cases and two new deaths.

These figures brought the overall tally of active cases to 27,588 and the death toll to 11,517.

The DOH noted that about 86.6 percent of the active cases are mild, 6.9 percent are asymptomatic, 2.8 percent are severe, 0.86 percent are moderate, and 2.8 percent are in critical condition.

“One duplicate was removed from the total case count and, of these, two were recovered cases. Moreover, two cases that were previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” it said.

It added that six laboratories were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Data Repository System on Feb. 14, 2021.

DOH data on Feb. 14 showed that 1,024 or 6.8 percent of 14,982 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.

Currently, there is a 21,400-bed capacity dedicated to patients with Covid-19.

Available are 62 percent of 1,900 intensive care unit beds, 68 percent of 13,500 isolation beds, and 77 percent of 6,000 ward beds.

About 80 percent of 2,000 ventilators are available for Covid-19 patients’ use.

The DOH reminded the public to continue observing minimum public health standards – physical distancing, wearing of face mask and face shields, and proper handwashing. (PNA)
