Residents across National Capital Region (NCR), Laguna (Region IV-A), and Cebu City (Region VII) have to hold on a little longer as the government places these areas under modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) from May 16-31, 2020.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced the decision on Tuesday afternoon in a virtual presser.
Majority of the rules in ECQ apply. People are still required to stay in their homes and are only allowed to go outdoors to buy essentials. Here are some of the new guidelines for areas undergoing modified ECQ:
• Limited movement within zone for obtaining essential services of work
• Limited transporting services for essential goods & services
• Suspension of physical classes
• Operation of selected manufacturing and processing plants up to maximum of 50% workforce
Details regarding which industries belong in the resume of operations have yet to be announced.
The Luzon-wide ECQ has been implemented on March 16, 2020. As of May 11, there are 11,086 confirmed COVID-19 cases including 1,999 recoveries, and 726 deaths.
