A state-of-the-art mobile field hospital was assembled at the compound of the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) here to serve as holding area for patients suspected of being infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Governor Albert Garcia on Sunday said the portable medical facility called Blu-Med Medical Shelter is the provincial government’s response to the health crisis the province is facing.

He said the field tent hospital is transferable and can serve as isolation center for suspected Covid–19 cases.

The tent has a negative pressure capability with a capacity of 20 beds.

“Magtiwala kayo na patuloy ang pagsasagawa ng inyong pamahalaan ng aksiyon upang mapangalagaan ang bawat isa at malagpasan natin ang matinding pagsubok na ito (Rest assured that the government is continuously doing actions to protect every one and overcome this challenge),” Garcia said.

As of 6 pm. Sunday, the Provincial Health Office said the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases rose to 81 after one was added — a 52-year-old male from Orani town.

Of this number, 15 have recovered while four died. (PNA)
