7. Imagine a safe place
Whenever you start feeling anxious, find a safe, quiet, and comfortable space where you can focus. Sometimes, being able to visualize yourself in different surroundings can help the mind and body relax and calm down.
Think of the most ideal place to relax—a meadow, your childhood bedroom, a cozy library or even a quiet coffee shop. It can be any place in the world, but make sure the image you are imagining is one that makes you feel happy, safe, and peaceful. You can even add layers to it by imaging how it would sound like if you were there, the smells, and even how objects in that place would feel.
Always remember this safe place whenever you feel like your current surroundings get too overwhelming.
