You need to break up with him if he is unfaithful. But you need to have evidence to prove his unfaithfulness. Cheating is a sign that he no longer respects you and he is not committed to the relationship. He may have excuses for his behavior but there is no justification for cheating when one is in a relationship. Do not wait until the cheating becomes chronic.
