6. When does the novena start?

For devotees to the Black Nazarene, the pilgrimage lasts all year with masses held every Friday to celebrate Good Friday. However, the actual Feast of the Black Nazarene starts from December 31 with Novena prayer and masses, and formally ends in the 9th of January after Traslacion with hourly masses at Quiapo Church.
