We’ve asked for it, you’ve asked for it – well, more than a couple hundred times but still the question remains: When is Rihanna going to release that much-awaited album. It’s been 3 years since Anti and all of us have been stuck wondering when our queen will show the world her new music.

On a recent interview in Vogue, Rihanna confirmed that she was making a reggae record. “R9, as the Navy has labeled it.” She said, “I like to look at it as a reggae-inspired or reggae-infused album. It’s not gonna be typical of what you know as reggae. But you’re going to feel the elements in all of the tracks.” After the release of her new bronzer, while many fans have commented that they are excited about the beauty product, they simultaneously questioned where her new album is.

“Reggae always feels right to me. It’s in my blood. It doesn’t matter how far or long removed I am from that culture, or my environment that I grew up in; it never leaves. It’s always the same high. Even though I’ve explored other genres of music, it was time to go back to something that I haven’t really homed in on completely for a body of work,” Rihanna says. But while we know for sure that there is an album, we’re still left in the dark as to when we’re able to hear.

So please, Riri! Maybe a Christmas gift?
