Are you a huge Toy Story fan? Mark your calendars for Buzz Lightyear’s own flight in the upcoming “Lightyear” origin story.

In a Twitter post, actor Chris Evans revealed that he was cast to voice act as Buzz Lightyear in the film that will premier in 2022.

“Animated movies were an enormous part of my childhood. They were my escape. My adventures. My dreams. They were my first window into the magic of storytelling and performing,” the actor said.

He then thanked Pixar for giving him the opportunity to play the role of Woody’s best friend, “To @pixar and @AngusMacLane “‘Thank you’ doesn’t even come close”, Evans wrote.

Evans is an American actor, best known for his role as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series of films.

On Wednesday, October 27, fans were teased with the official trailer of the upcoming Pixar movie which is scheduled to hit theaters on June 17, 2022.

“I’m covered in goosebumps. And will be every time I watch this trailer. Or hear a Bowie song. Or have any thought whatsoever between now and July cause nothing has ever made me feel more joy and gratitude than knowing I’m a part of this and it’s basically always on my mind,” said Evans after the trailer of “Lightyear” has been released.

However, “Lightyear” will introduce the “real-life” human astronaut that inspired the toy version in the Toy Story franchise, instead of following the traditional Toy Story concept of toy-sized characters.
