This latest Instagram trend— Until Tomorrow— has users posting their more silly, unfiltered sides.

Let’s face it, internet trends pop up during the most random of times. It was only about time that another trend would be making its rounds on our socials, especially now that almost everyone is stuck at home.

What is the Until Tomorrow Challenge?

The Until Tomorrow Challenge has Instagram users nationwide posting what appears like silly or wacky photos and videos with the caption ‘Until tomorrow’. The picture needs to stay up on the user’s feed for at least 24 hours (a whole day) until it can be deleted.

But why is it trending?

Just like other trends, it usually involves tagging another user or challenging them. But for the Until Tomorrow Challenge, it takes on a more subtle approach.

For those who are unaware, (and sorry for the spoilers), once you’ve liked the post of another user, you will be receiving a message that dictates that you too have to post your own funny picture with the same caption. You also now bear the responsibility of making other users who have liked your picture post their own wacky photo.

What is it for?

The trend doesn’t exactly have a moral purpose except for being a means of fun, and another way to beat boredom as people are confined to their houses.

With the amount of news circulating online as we all face the pandemic, a little fun to distract us is good for our mental states. But of course, it is also important we remember to keep ourselves clean and sanitize and update on the latest news, and if possible, be able to extend help through our little ways.
