The city government officially reopened its redeveloped historical landmarks on Wednesday, aiming to revitalize public spaces.

Mayor Rolando Uy led the ceremony, announcing the significant renovation of “Plaza Divisoria,” which encompasses J.R. Borja Park, Kiosko Kagawasan, and Rizal Park.

“The rehabilitation of Divisoria may not be immediately noticeable during daylight hours, but when you observe it at night, the transformative changes truly become apparent,” Uy told reporters in an interview.

These renovations fall under Phases 3 and 4 of the “Project Lunhaw” climate resiliency development initiative. The two renovation phases collectively cost more than PHP5.6 million.

The reopening of these landmarks strategically coincides with the celebration of the 127th Philippine Independence Day on June 12.

Meanwhile, the local government has also provided assistance to the Department of Education in supporting the ongoing “Brigada Eskwela” program, which prepares schools for the reopening of classes. (PNA)
