Just in time for Halloween, the eerie farmhouse that inspired the film “The Conjuring” is for sale.
The farmhouse is located in Burrillville, Rhode Island, and its owners, Cory and Jen Heizen are hoping to sell it to someone who would continue the tours and overnight stay business that they established.
According to legend, the well-known property is haunted by Bathsheba Sherman, who resided in the house in the 1800s. Moreover, Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson who starred in ‘The Conjuring’ film were based on tales acquired from former homeowners.
The property was most recently owned by Cory and Jennifer Heinzen, who bought it in 2019. Cory, a paranormal investigator, told NBC 10 WJAR about weird occurrences like “doors opening and closing on their own, footsteps, knocking (and) disembodied voices.”
It’s not inexpensive since it’s one of the most famous haunted houses in America. It is marketed for USD 1.2 million or nearly PHP 61,276,200 through Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty.
Since the release of the film in 2013, the home has gained popularity, leading to establishing a global franchise known as The Conjuring Universe.
The Heinzens have stated that they will be selective about who buys the property and will not sell it to anyone who wants to commercialize it beyond the overnight visits and day tours they now offer. Furthermore, just to have an in-person showing, interested parties must submit proof of funds and sign a nondisclosure agreement in order to see the property’s entire financial details.
