To celebrate the National Arts Month, spearheaded by the National Commission of Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the 17th Lasallian Arts Month virtually enjoins young artists to utilize their talent, creativity and skill to boost engagement with the young in time for the 2022 national elections.

Themed Makinig sa Tinig: Maki-alam, Makibahagi, Maki-isa, the month-long celebration aims to maximize art and culture as a channel of transformation. It highlights the critical role of the youth and the significance of a rightful stand during one of the most crucial times in the country.

Led by the Benilde Culture and Arts Unit (BCAU) of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, the event commences with an online community gallery that features a collection of poetry, digital illustrations and ekphrastic artworks that depict the Filipinos’ longing for peace. Pieces likewise encourage the audience to practice their right to vote and to do so wisely. The community gallery is now available on view on https://www.benildecultureandarts.com/.

Virtual performances from internationally lauded and award-winning student-artists groups including Coro San Benildo and Karilyo Shadowplay Collective will be shown.

Coro San Benildo will likewise head Coromantiko, an open verse Tiktok challenge that will immerse the spectators in love, loss and brokenness through music. It will open on Monday, February 21, 2022 on https://www.tiktok.com/@corosanbenildo.

Young People Power sets the stage for a series of creative performances. Each number promises to be a movement which encourages fellow youth to be civically engaged and to cast their votes in the upcoming elections.
