Seventeen patrol vehicles will be donated by the provincial government of Sorgoson to various police stations and offices in the province aimed at strengthening operational response and visibility.

In a phone interview on Friday, Salvador Mendoza, Sorsogon provincial information chief, said the patrol vehicles worth PHP15 million will be distributed to 14 local police stations and the city police office.

“Each local police station for the 14 local government units will receive one unit of the patrol car while for the city police office, three units of patrol cars will be given,” he said.

Mendoza said the vehicles to be donated are part of the provincial government’s Katrangkiluhan (peace and order) program that ensures the safety and welfare of Sorsogon residents.

He said the provincial government is just waiting for some documents before distributing the vehicles.

“Our Governor Jose Edwin Hamor assured the 15 chiefs of police that right after the completion of the document requirements it (the vehicles) will be distributed. By providing them with modern and well-equipped vehicles, the people of Sorsogon can expect heightened security measures and improved crime prevention efforts,” he added. (PNA)
