The Civil Service Commission (CSC) urged skilled workers to apply for eligibility to qualify for certain government positions.

In a news release Friday, the CSC said carpenters, plumbers and electricians, among others, may be granted skills eligibility Category II without taking written exams.

The CSC Memorandum Circular No. 11, s. 1996, as amended by MC No. 10, s. 2013 states that the qualifications of such individuals are not measurable by written exams.

Automotive mechanic, heavy equipment operator, laboratory technician, shrine curator and draftsman may also apply for skills elgibility.

“Eligible individuals must have a ‘very satisfactory’ performance rating for one year under a temporary appointment,” the CSC said.

“However, this eligibility is limited to specified roles and is not equivalent to Career Service Professional or Subprofessional eligibilities,” it added.

Application requirements include accomplished CS Form 101-G (Revised 2013); three identical identification photos (taken within three months); original and photocopy of a valid ID; Philippine Statistics Authority-issued birth certificate; marriage certificate (if applicable); appointment paper indicating “temporary” status; certification of “very satisfactory” rating (two periods, using CSC-Examination, Recruitment, and Placement Office [ERPO] Cat. II Form No. 1); statement of actual duties and responsibilities (CSC-ERPO Cat. II Form No. 2); and authenticated performance rating form (confirmed by Performance Evaluation Review Committee).

Applications must be filed one week before the one-year temporary appointment ends.

The CSC said late submissions are allowed if the applicant retains the same position. (PNA)
