Senator Loren Legarda committed to support the priority program of Antique Governor Paolo Everardo Javier, such as the improvement of 10 hospitals

Legarda, who hails from this province, made the promise after officiating the oath-taking ceremony of newly elected officials at Evelio B. Javier Freedom Park in this capital town.

“I will support the plan to improve the hospitals that have been devolved by the Department of Health (DOH) so that no needy family would be turned away,” she said.

Antique has nine districts and one provincial hospital.

Legarda said she would also ensure every child receives adequate healthcare.

“We will provide better healthcare by making available the necessary equipment and medicine supplies,” Javier said in his inaugural message.

He also intends to implement “zero” billing, especially for poor patients.

The governor also proposed financial relief to some 115,000 consumers of Antique Electric Cooperative and Antiqueño consumers under the Aklan Electric Cooperative by providing a PHP500 monthly subsidy.

“Through the provision of subsidy, the people will then have access to power that is also affordable,” he said.

Meanwhile, Lone District Rep. Antonio Agapito Legarda said he “will bring government to where it matters most” and vowed to work in harmony with Javier. (PNA)
