Senator Imee Marcos led the distribution of financial assistance to the beneficiaries of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program in a payout activity conducted on Wednesday at a covered court in the capitol compound in Agusan del Norte here.

A total of 1,365 beneficiaries from the towns of Remedios T. Romualdez, Jabonga, Buenavista, Las Nieves, and Cabadbaran City received their AICS assistance on Wednesday.

Each of the beneficiaries received PHP3,000 in financial aid or a total of PHP4,095,000.

“Families were greatly affected by the pandemic in the last two years. After the pandemic, prices of prime commodities also increased that added burdens to us,” Marcos said.

She added that the release of the AICS assistance, through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), will aid families who are in financial difficulties as a result of the increase in the prices of fuel and other basic commodities.

Marcos was assisted by Agusan del Norte Gov. Maria Angelica Rosedell Amante and Rep. Dale Corvera during the activity.

“This AICS payout is an initiative of the provincial government of Agusan del Norte with the help of Sen. Marcos,” Amante said.

She thanked Sen. Marcos for the continued support to the provincial government and for personally gracing the AICS payout.

Of the total number of beneficiaries, 78 were coming from Remedios T. Romualdez town, 107 from Jabonga, 510 from Buenavista, 221 from Las Nieves, and 449 from Cabadbaran City. (PNA)
