Presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo said the best man for the job at stake in the May 9 presidential election is a woman.

In the first “PiliPinas Debates 2022” hosted by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Saturday, Robredo also urged the voters not to vote for candidates who are not willing to face fellow aspirants in a debate.

“True leader show up and man up that’s why this coming May the best man for the job is a woman,” she said during the event held at the Sofitel Hotel tent in Pasay City.

Robredo, a lone woman candidate in the presidential race on May 9, said the president should always be there when the people are in trouble and willing to sacrifice and fight for the country.

“Whether there is an election or not, whether there is a typhoon, disaster and pandemic, no matter what problem, I’m here. No matter what stories they make about me, the truth is, we have all the receipt. So, let’s not look for those who don’t want to face us. All the time I’m here facing you, fighting for you,” she said.

Other attendees include Ernie Abella, Leody de Guzman, Isko Moreno Domagoso, Ping Lacson, Norberto Gonzales, Faisal Mangondato, Jose Montemayor Jr., and Manny Pacquiao.

Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., a frontrunner based on the presidential race surveys, opted not to attend the debate. (PNA)
