Deviating from his previous subdued songs, Tarsier Records artist Recio has dropped an upbeat track “Know,” his sophomore single under the ABS-CBN Music label.
“‘Know’ is a song about finding self-acceptance and liberation within yourself—a much more hopeful persona, no longer struggling to find direction in life, but questioning how and why you’re going to fulfill your desires,” said Recio, who also recently signed with ABS-CBN’s talent management arm Star Magic.
An alternative rock record boasting of unique guitar riffs and a rumbling bass rhythm, “Know” also intends to show Recio as a multidimensional artist who can also produce sanguine music.
He explained, “I want to show people that I’m not just a sad artist cooped up in my room, but someone who experiences highs and lows which is completely normal in everyone’s lives. I wanted to express that before every good moment in life, it’s normal to have doubts before jumping into new endeavors.”
In a recent MYXclusive interview, the new Kapamilya talent talked about how he was naturally drawn to making music. “It came to me naturally, even though I wasn’t making music every day. I’d get my laptop and experiment with sounds, and that’s how it came into fruition. I haven’t regretted it because I’m doing what I love,” he shared.
Last May, the indie/lo-fi/R&B artist dropped his debut release under Tarsier Records “Tired Eyes,” a mellow track about his relatable musings during quarantine. This, along with “Know,” will be among the tracks in his upcoming EP that’s currently in the works.
