President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday announced that every public school teacher will receive a PHP1,000 incentive in recognition of their dedication and sacrifices.

The President made the announcement before tens of thousands of teachers during the National Teachers’ Day celebration.

“Today, on World Teachers’ Day, we also provide a PHP1,000 incentive for every public school teacher — a little reminder man lang, kaunti lang paalala (just a little reminder) that we recognize your efforts and your sacrifices and they have not gone unrecognized,” Marcos said in his speech.

He underscored the importance of continued government support to empower educators.

“It reminds us that the true measure of a nation’s growth is found in the grit, the passion, and dedication of you — our teachers,” he added, highlighting the heroism of teachers across the country.

“Yet, we know that inspiration must be matched with action. Teachers can only fulfill their calling if the government fully supports them,” Marcos said. (PNA)
