For the first time, Miss Universe Organization had chosen a Filipino designer to sponsor footwear for the 69th edition of the Miss Universe pageant on May 17, 2021.
Jojo Bragais, a Filipino shoe designer has gained the reputation of the MUO as he was tapped by the organization to be the next partner-designer for the shoe runway.
Bragais is no new in the industry since he already outfitted numerous local and international artists and beauty queens for years.

The success of Bragais started in 2015 when the Binibining Pilipinas Organization saw his work that was worn by Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2014 Yvethe Santiago. Later, he was asked by the organization to be their official Binibini shoe partner in 2015.
In 2018, Bragais also designed Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray that made his way to be the long-time provider of shoes in the Philippines pageantry. In a surprise, international celebrities including Dua Lipa and Bebe Rexhan have worn his purely Pinoy shoe creation.
As for Bragais, this is something “Filipino could be proud of. “
Bragais is now preparing about 200 pairs of runway shoes for the 75 candidates this year.
