The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) is urging commercial establishments in Antique to enroll their employees with the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP).

PhilHealth Regional Office public affairs unit head Janimhe Jalbuna said in a forum on Monday that they are reaching out to employers of the remaining 187,998 members who have yet to register with the enhanced primary care benefit program.

“In Antique, the number of registered members and dependents is 591,425, while there are only 403,427 who have enrolled with YAKAP as of Oct. 31,” she said.

She said business owners may coordinate with their Local Health Insurance Office for the enrollment procedure.

PhilHealth has 23 accredited YAKAP clinics and government-owned hospitals in the province.

Medicines prescribed by accredited clinics can be availed of at no cost through PhilHealth’s Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment (GAMOT) program starting next year.

“Those enrolled with the YAKAP, as well as their dependents, could avail of PHP20,000 worth of medicines per year from the GAMOT,” Jalbuna said. (PNA)
