The Philippines’ women’s volleyball team leaps to 57th place in the FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Rankings, making them the ninth Asian country to have the highest score as of June 21.

The ranking was posted on the official website of Volleyball World after the Philippines women’s team defeated Macau (3-0) in the 2023 AVC Challenge Cup for Women Preliminary Round and bested India (3-2) in the Classification Match on June 19 and 21, respectively.

Among the Asian countries in the Asian Volleyball Confederation, the Philippines women’s team placed 9th and outdid Indonesia in the FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Rankings despite their 3-0 loss to Indonesia in the Preliminary Round last June 20.

On the other hand, the Philippines women’s team holds third place within Southeast Asia, falling behind Thailand and Vietnam, which stand at 15th and 64th place in the FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Rankings, respectively.

On June 23, the Philippines women’s team is set to compete against Australia in the 2023 AVC Challenge Cup for Women Classification Match.

The 2023 AVC Challenge Cup for Women started on June 18 and will last until June 25 in East Java, Indonesia.
