PH Detects 165 Additional Cases Of Omicron, 4 Cases Of Delta

The country has detected 165 more cases of two Omicron subvariants and four new cases of Delta variant of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), the Department of Health (DOH) reported Friday.

In a presentation, the DOH said 163 of the total count for the Omicron subvariants are BA.5 cases and the remaining two are BA.4 cases.

Of the 163 BA.5 cases, one is from Western Visayas; one from Central Visayas, 151 from Davao Region; six from Western Visayas; one from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao; two from CARAGA; and one from the National Capital Region.

The two additional BA.4 cases are from the Davao Region.

The DOH also detected four new cases of Delta variant from the Davao Region.

All the reported cases are based on the latest genome sequencing results as of Sept. 13. (PNA)
