The country’s total number of recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) is now 560,736, as 166 more patients beat the disease, the Department of Health (DOH) said on Tuesday.

In its 4 p.m. case bulletin, the DOH said the figure represents 88.8 percent of those who tested positive of the virus that has so far beaten the illness.

The agency also reported 4,437 new confirmed cases and 11 new deaths.

These figures brought the overall tally of active cases to 57,736 and the death toll to 12,848.

The DOH noted about 92.6 percent of the active cases are mild, 4 percent are asymptomatic, 1.3 percent are severe, 0.68 percent are moderate, and 1.3 percent are in critical condition.

“There were 10 duplicates that were removed from the total case count, and, of these, three recovered cases have been removed. Moreover, four cases that were previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” it said.

DOH data on Monday showed that 2,786 or 11.2 percent of 24,932 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.

Currently, there is a 21,400-bed capacity dedicated to patients with Covid-19.

Available are 53 percent of 1,900 intensive care unit beds, 61 percent of 13,500 isolation beds, and 69 percent of 6,000 ward beds.

About 73 percent of 2,000 ventilators are available for Covid-19 patients’ use.

The agency reminded the public to continue observing minimum public health standards – physical distancing, wearing of face mask and full coverage face shields, and proper handwashing. (PNA)
