“I think I am ready to be more open to doing so many different things. I feel like ‘yun ‘yung natutunan ko rito sa pandemic, to take on new possibilities and challenges,” the actress said.
The actress also said that she is “open to exploring the idea of having a talk show with the network or appearing on sitcoms.”
Alonzo also said that she also called ABS-CBN President Carlo Katigbak to ask for the latter’s blessing as she finalized the deal with GMA Network.
“It was a very emotional call.” The actress said as she reminisced about the almost two decades of staying at the Kapamilya Network.
“He wished me well, he wished me good luck… I’m happy that I had his blessing before we met here. All is well,” she said.
The actress also said that the opportunity that was given to her will be a great help to broaden her world and widen her perspective. “It’ll give me a chance to work with more people… It’s like I’m starting all over again. It feels like a rebirth,” she said.
“Para akong nag-uumpisa ulit, parang may rebirth, and it felt so good.” Alonzo said.
“Parang surreal ang lahat ng nangyayari,” she added after she was asked on how she was feeling after meeting the executives of GMA and signing of her contract.
Bea Alonzo on cancellation of ABS-CBN soap Kahit Minsan Lang
“We came to a decision na hindi nalang matutuloy yung soap,” the actress reiterated. She explained that her project with ABS CBN was cancelled due to the restrictions set because of the pandemic.
Alonzo also expressed how much she respects ABS-CBN and the people behind the production team. She also respects the mutual decision made by both parties regarding the cancellation of the series.
“If I am not mistaken, parang 1-year na rin akong walang soap na ginagawa and walang contract,” the actress said.
Alonzo said that it took her many months to reflect on what she wants to do with her life and how she wants to move forward after this decision.
Star Creatives said, September 17, that the planned series would no longer be produced due to the nature of the content created, according to an ABS-CBN News report.
According to the production unit, “’Kahit Minsan Lang’ cannot be accommodated at present because of the restrictive scenarios of shooting.”
The project was initially announced in July of last year, and filming began in September of that year. Richard Gutierrez, Rafael Rosell, Jameson Blake, and Christian Bables were set to star.
