Residents of Calasiao, Pangasinan can avail medical services in the coming months at the inaugurated Super Health Center in Barangay Dinalaoan.

Department of Health Ilocos Center for Health Development director Paula Paz Sydiongco, in a statement on Monday, said the facility is expected to significantly improve access to essential medical services for residents, particularly those in underserved and vulnerable communities.

The facility will offer primary care consultations, laboratory services, maternal and child healthcare, immunization, tuberculosis screening, non-communicable disease management, and other preventive health programs aimed at reducing the burden on hospitals while promoting early detection and treatment, she said.

“This health center would significantly uplift health outcomes in a way that it improves the community and the whole of Calasiao,” she said.

She said that it would cater to the residents regardless of economic background.

Sydiongco said it was funded with over PHP9 million for the structure and PHP2 million for the equipment under the Health Facilities Enhancement Program.

The lot where it was constructed was donated by engineer Wilfredo Decena and his family.

Mayor Patrick Caramat thanked the national government for the facility that would be beneficial to residents, especially those in other barangays, away from the town proper, where other medical and health facilities are mostly situated.

He said they are just waiting for the license to operate the center to cater to the medical and healthcare needs of the residents.

The inauguration ceremony was held on May 8. (PNA)
