The Home Development Mutual Fund or Pag-IBIG Fund has made its services accessible to Pangasinenses in select towns in the fifth and sixth districts of the province through its Lingkod Pag-IBIG on Wheels.

Aileen Calpotura, Pag-IBIG Fund Urdaneta City branch supervising member services officer, said most of their clients have filed a loan and applied for the loyalty card plus, as well as inquired on housing loan, and membership, among others.

“Lingkod Pag-IBIG on Wheels was first launched in the National Capital Region prior to the pandemic. It was again piloted in Pangasinan during the pandemic. This is to reach out to the members who are living in far-flung areas,” she said in a phone interview on Thursday.

Calpotura said Pag-IBIG Fund has brought its services to members, such as the verification of membership, filing of loans, applications for loyalty card plus, inquiries, among others, except for the payment collection.

“For the collection of payments, we refer them to the nearest bayad (payment) centers,” she said.

The Lingkod Pag-IBIG on Wheels caravan started in Sison town on February 28 then in Asingan town on March 1, Laoac town on March 2, San Quintin town on March 3, and San Manuel town on March 4.

“These areas are far from the Urdaneta City or Dagupan City branch, thus the need to bring the services to them since the restrictions in connection to the pandemic have already declined,” she said.

Calpotura said they cater to an average of 100 clients or members daily.

“We are open (in the) morning until 4 p.m. but we extend our time in order to finish the transactions of all the clients who came to visit us in our mobile office,” she said.

Pag-IBIG Fund has a total of 40,259 active members in the fifth and sixth districts of Pangasinan. (PNA)
