The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Monday reported 12 more Filipinos abroad contracting the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the total tally to 9,908.

In its latest case bulletin, the DFA said the new confirmed Covid-19 cases are from the Asia and the Pacific and the Middle East.

It added there are two new recoveries from the Asia and the Pacific and one new fatality from the Middle East.

These figures bring the total number of recoveries to 5,844 and the death toll at 726.

There are 3,338 Filipinos undergoing treatment abroad.

“As DFA personnel in our Foreign Service Posts continue to report on the status of Filipinos abroad, the DFA remains steadfast in its tireless efforts to attend to the needs of our people and facilitating requests for repatriation, whenever possible,” the agency said. (PNA)
